A miscellaneous summary for the week’s happenings
1. USA! USA!
For those of your non soccer fans, the US won Group C in FIFA World Cup Pool play and is advancing to play Ghana today at 12:30 P.M. EST. If you aren’t a soccer fan, you should at least tune in to appreciate your country doing well…besides it’s only once every 4 years. Here’s the winning goal by Landon Donovan in the 90th minute. Tune to the 2:01 mark to see that winning drive..the rest is the close class.
2. 5 Kentucky players taken in the first round!
My alma mater made me proud this week by sending an unprecedented 5 players in the first round of the NBA draft and our first ever #1 overall pick, John Wall. This makes me proud as a UK fan, but sad to see such a talented class go. I’m sure we’ll never see anything this talented for a long time again. Check out this John Wall edition of Sport Science.
3. Bros icing bros
My “bros” (if you will) have taken kindly to this game. I’m not sure there’s much to say about it, so check out the website and prepare to temporarily suppress all signs of maturity.
Well, as I sit here to post the link I thankfully pray that this game has been ended. Anyway, here is an article linking to the original mayhem: Ice
